Welcome

Hello! Brooke/Nellethiel here – welcome to my newest blog project, a place to document in more depth (outside of tumblr) my Kemeticism studies and daily practices. In the past week a flurry of events have happened to me: I was quite clearly confronted (through multiple dreams and meditations) by the two Kemetic Goddesses Het-heru (Hathor) and Nebt-het (Nephthys) (My Ladies, as I’ve been calling them), I confirmed through various divinations (by me and others) that the Ladies do indeed want me to serve Them/have come into my life to help me (as in, I need Them as much as They need me, for reasons I hope to discover!), and I was accepted into the Kemetic Orthodoxy’s beginner’s course. In addition to these events, I recently discovered the manifested form of my daemon, or inner consciousness/intuition, and it’s been a pretty mind-blowing experience.

All of these things have inspired me to start this blog. At the risk of sounding too corny, I honestly feel that I am on the cusp of a fresh, new spiritual beginning right now…for those who don’t know me personally, I only just recently moved back to the United States from living/working/studying abroad in Tokyo, Japan for most of last year. Through that experience I changed deeply as a person, and in a secular sense, I found the career path that works best for me. Spiritually, though I had been studying Kemeticism for a year or so (devoting myself primarily, though with little return-communication, to the God Djehuty/Thoth), I really wrestled with it while in Japan and came out of the experience feeling more sure than ever that this is the right religion for me (coupled with my study of Kabbalistc, Earth-based Judaism, as my personal form of ancestor veneration). Right now, so many energies and forces seem to be pushing me so much more powerfully down the path of Kemeticism…thus, another reason to explore my thoughts and discoveries more deeply in writing: and so this blog was created!

For those who follow me on tumblr, you may also know of my other blog project, which is the documentation of my Judaic studies under spiritual leader Ketzirah (a blog called Min Ha’Aretz). This blog will be the compliment to that blog – since both those studies AND Kemeticism make me spiritually whole. I hope you enjoy reading both of them, or whichever interests you more. On this blog I will be posting entires for the Pagan Blog Project (which, admittedly, I joined a bit late, but I still very much want to take part in!), entires concerning my studies during the KO beginner’s course, and my own everyday musings/spiritual experiences.

Please be sure to check out the “About me”, “What is Kemeticism?”, and “Making Bright?” pages above for more details concerning my background, Kemeticism in general, and the origin for the name of this blog. I also plan to add a page concerning my Ladies and the others I often mention from my spiritual life. And for those who don’t know me from tumblr, you can find my spiritual tumblr here: Power Beyond Ages.

Thanks for stopping by! More to come!

  2. Kemetism came in to my life and experiences in 2011(Living in SE Asia) The presence of the Female Dieties seems very prevalent in recent times. I have pictures of several Kemetic Goddess’ in my condo.I positioned Het-heru and Nebt-het side by side for no apparent reason..but the more I look at ‘The Ladies’ something tells me they are very closely connected. ..Adrian

    • I’m glad to hear that Kemeticism is inspiring you too :) and that’s interesting about the Ladies! Traditionally, in the myths, the Two have little to do with one another and Their associations are quite opposite…Nebt-het is often paired with Her sister Aset, if anyone. But like you, I’m beginning to discover how the Two can work together instinctively…They both seem to have come into my life to help me with two very different aspects of my life, and in that sense seem to be drawn together, if for no other purpose than that perhaps They work well together for some people. In any case, the Gods work in mysterious ways! ;)

Thanks so much for the comment! Good luck with your own practice!

  3. The connection happened without my choice. I was very inspired by ancient temples in Thailand and Cambodia and after being drawn back to these beautiful places a strong connection with Kemet emerged in some association with the Khmer influence(I realise the Khmer history is much more recent) I made my first trip to Egypt recently, only managing Cairo and Bubastis…this being my initial introduction. Maybe The Ancestors are calling,I have no other explanation.
Their presence is benevolent and beautiful… ‘Peace be still’

    • Ahh, I’m so jealous you’ve been to Egypt! It’s one of my dreams to go someday! Hopefully I can get there someday! I’ve been to Israel, and regret we weren’t able to stop in Egypt at the time. And I like that ^_^ “Peace be still.”
